I can’t resist the third person, so..

Nearly Legal has an assistant solicitor post in a damn good housing department in a good firm now sorted out for post-qualification in October. No, I’m not telling you where, nor am I casting aside anonymity. Not now anyway.

Nearly Legal is also off on holiday for the next 10 days or so. I’m not going near the internet, so anything that comes up in the meantime will have to wait for my return.

Giles Peaker is a solicitor and partner in the Housing and Public Law team at Anthony Gold Solicitors in South London. You can find him on Linkedin and on Twitter. Known as NL round these parts.

Well done old bean – but you must share, did the blog help get the job? I don’t mean that they contacted you through it, or you told them – but do you think that through keeping this blog you developed into someone more likely to become desirable to a good firm?

    Thanks all.

Usefully Employed, that’s a difficult one to answer. It didn’t play a direct role, certainly. Has the blog made me a better person/more desirable housing lawyer? Certainly the level of comments and debate that has grown up hereabouts has had that effect, and it could well be that the necessary discipline has helped. beyond that, I couldn’t say.

Belated congratulations on getting the job – well deserved. I hope you carry on blogging – Really Legal would be good, or Legal at Last, maybe …

Thanks Tessa and bagpuss. The future of the blog is the subject of much thought at the moment – there may be some changes to be announced before long…
