Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire / York, North Yorkshire
Job Type: Full-Time – 37 hours per week – x4 roles (part time applications considered)

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Housing Law Solicitor / Housing Supervisor / caseworker / Paralegal to join our team. The candidate will offer housing law advice and representation to clients. The candidate may also be required to provide support in relation to housing law on other contracts. We have been awarded the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme Contracts in the following areas; Bradford, Skipton, Harrogate, York, Scarborough, Wakefield and Huddersfield.

Role and responsibilities
- Housing Experience preferred but training will be provided.
- Navigate the Legal Aid Agency online portal – CCMS
- Report Directly to your Supervisor
- Attending client’s, taking instructions and preparing cases.
- Implementing any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews.
- Represent clients under the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme Contracts.
- Ability to manage appropriate Legal Aid caseload types and complexities.
- Housing Disrepair Fee Earner. Experienced preferred.
We offer
Salary between £27,000 – £45,000. Salary to be discussed depending on experience.

We provide free representation to tenants at the Oxford and Reading County Courts under the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme.

Main Responsibilities of the Role
- Undertaking casework in Homelessness, Possession, Injunction and Committal proceedings, Disrepair and Unlawful Eviction
- Following accurate time recording procedures
- Managing files in compliance with SQM requirements
- Representing clients under the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme
Key Requirements
- Experience in dealing with all Housing related casework
- Experience in advocacy
- Knowledge of the legal aid system and a commitment to providing access to justice through legal aid
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work with vulnerable clients with empathy and compassion
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and experience in using legal case management systems
