WTB Solicitors LLP are recruiting a solicitor newly qualified to 3 years pqe to join our specialist housing law team which only provides advice to tenants. This is a fantastic role for a committed solicitor to join a highly specialist team in a reputed firm.

WTB Solicitors LLP are a firm dedicated to legal aid and providing representation to the most vulnerable in society

We are seeking to recruit a motivated and capable individual to work with the team. The role will consist of assisting with case preparation, legal research, document management, processing evidence, initial enquiries, completing funding forms, client and witness contact, attending court and conferences as well as general administration.

Working closely with colleagues. advising clients in respect of casework we are specialists in representing tenants defending possession, injunction, unlawful eviction, disrepair, and homelessness cases.

You will have:

· A strong commitment to legal aid and helping the most vulnerable often with mental ill health

· Strong client care skills & sympathetic understanding of client’s needs

· Able to manage own caseload of differing levels of complexity and able to work as part of a team with senior & junior colleagues

· Be able to advise on eviction, possession, homelessness, succession & anti-social behaviour

· Able to work to the Standard required by Legal Aid Agency SQM, Peer Review Criteria & Guidance

· Deal with a large volume of cases

· Excellent IT and organisational skills

· Experience in advocacy and a desire to develop this skill

Housing caseworker / solicitor (part or full time) – Bristol Law Centre
Closing date: Monday, 29th January 2024
Hours: 21-35 hours (35 hours being full time)

Location: Bristol, option for hybrid working

Salary: £33,000-36,000 (pro rata) starting salary, dependent on experience

(Pay award pending)

Our modern offices are situated close to Bristol Temple Meads station and the city centre. We are flexible to part time or full time working (35 hours per week), and to hybrid work.  Our friendly and committed housing team are one of only a few in the area and we wish to grow to ensure more people are helped, working closely with many partners in the city and beyond.
