Advice for Renters

Consultant/Freelance Housing Solicitor
Location: London – Office Based/Hybrid
Working Hours: Part-Time/Full-Time
Type: Fee Share Arrangement

We are looking for an enthusiastic housing lawyer to join a dedicated team who are all passionate about housing justice.
Advice for Renters is a very special place to work. We have a real expertise in, and dedication to helping private tenants, but also assist clients in all tenures, as well as people experiencing homelessness.

You must be a qualified Solicitor with solid experience and an in-depth knowledge of housing law. You will have, a commitment to excellent client care and have great organisational skills and be able to work with minimal supervision, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high levels of accuracy. You will be IT literate, self-servicing and have a good working knowledge of Legal
Aid processes (although you will receive great admin support). You will be able to contribute to the growth and development of Advice for Renters` services.

Housing Advisor
Location: London – Office Based /Some Hybrid
Working Hours: Part-Time/Full-Time
Salary: Salary from £28,000 – £33,000 depending on experience
Type: Permanent

They should share our passion for helping and empowering members of our diverse communities and be committed to continuous improvement for themselves and the team. They should be able to work independently and prioritise work loads.

Senior Housing Solicitor
Location: Hereford
Working Hours: Part-Time (21 hrs pw)
Salary: £32k – £40k pro rata depending on experience. It is envisioned this role will become full time as the office sets up
Type: Fixed term contract (6 Months), likely to be extended subject to project funding

You won’t be joining us for the high salary (because it isn’t) but if you want to work with a dedicated team who are all passionate about housing justice, then this could be the job for you. You will be helping to set up our new office in Hereford city. You will grab this Hereford bull by the horns, helping to forge a new team, in a new area for this nationally respected charity. We are a highly flexible employer, and encourage independent working.

You must be a qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years’ solid experience in Housing Law. You will have excellent organisational and client care skills and be able to work with minimal supervision, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high levels of accuracy. You will be IT literate, self- servicing and have a good working knowledge of Legal Aid processes. You will be able to contribute to the growth and development of Advice for Renters` services in Herefordshire. It is expected that additional funding will be raised to offer full time employment and permanency, and to broaden our reach within the West Midlands. Infrequent travel to London may be necessary. Ideally you meet the LAA housing supervisor standard.
