Housing Solicitor/Caseworker

Salary: Up to £33,800 p.a. + generous terms and conditions.

Tower Hamlets Law Centre helps some of the most vulnerable people in London’s East End. Since our foundation in 1975, we have earned a fine reputation amongst our clients and supporters as skilled and determined legal advisers to the local community.

We’re looking for a housing solicitor/caseworker to help work on our Legal Aid Agency contract covering legal help, certificated cases and representation at court as part of the duty solicitor scheme. You’ll need to have at least one year’s experience of advising and assisting in housing law (if you are a solicitor, not all of this experience needs to be post qualification), together with a talent for explaining complex legal ideas in simple language and the ability to manage a demanding workload.

We are looking for someone to join our growing Housing Team. We are seeking an Experienced Housing Solicitor or Housing Caseworker.

Islington Law Centre is a firmly established and expanding social welfare organisation committed to providing the community with the highest possible quality legal advice and representation.  We are looking to recruit an experienced legal aid housing solicitor or caseworker to join and help us develop our housing team.   You will be joining a team of housing lawyers with experience of litigation at all levels.

We are seeking practitioners with experience in the full range of housing work, to include defending possession proceedings, homelessness and disrepair.

The Law Centre holds LAA contracts in housing and welfare benefits, public law and immigration.

Islington Law Centre currently co-ordinates one of the LAA’s housing duty possession schemes running at Clerkenwell and Shoreditch County Court.

Salary: between £38,000 and £40,000 pa depending upon experience.
