Position: Solicitor/Authorised Litigator

Location: Folkestone

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience).

Hours per week: up to 37/Negotiable

Type of contract: Permanent, subject to LAA funding and contract requirements being met.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor to join us leading our established Housing team. If you would like to make a real difference and help us to continue to provide access to justice for those with housing issues we would like to hear from you. You should have a minimum of 3 years PQE and preferably some housing law experience and experience of working under a Legal Aid contract. Based in Folkestone, but with some travel across East Kent, the focus of this post is to provide a high quality housing advice, casework and representation service to clients across Folkestone & Hythe and East Kent under our Legal Aid contract. This includes representing clients in court. Hours are negotiable.

This is a key role within our service which also delivers high level debt and benefits advice and assistance as well as advice in a wide range of other areas.

Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton

Housing Adviser/ Solicitor
Salary:                  Negotiable, dependent on level of experience and outcome of recruitment screening
Hours:                  35 hours per week (full time)
Location:             Option for hybrid working. Option for 25% home working week, travel across Bury and Bolton, along with other areas of the North West and Yorkshire region, as required

We’re seeking to appoint an experienced Housing Adviser/ Solicitor.

The Housing Adviser/ Solicitor will handle their own Legal Aid caseload of matters from instruction through to completion, acting on behalf of tenants, including but not limited to:

•             Possession Claims for rent arrears both private and social sectors
•             Possession claims under accelerated procedure
•             Anti-social behaviour injunctions
•             Unlawful Eviction Injunctions
•             Disrepair Claims
•             Homelessness s204 appeals to the County Court and beyond
•             Judicial reviews

The Housing Adviser/ Solicitor will be required to work across all advice channels including digital, face to face and telephone, and various activity centres providing housing advice to clients, while simultaneously developing our housing advice team.
