*Following on from running job ads, we’ve had a bit of a think about running other ads for events. I’ve decided that while we’re not happy about running ads for profit making events for firms/chambers/commercial bodies, adverts for free events or non-commercial events are probably acceptable, as long as they are relevant for the readers. It is a bit of a grey area, given that free events are often still marketing exercises, but I’ve taken the view that while we won’t give free promotion to someone else’s commercial project (and we don’t do paid advertising), free or NFP events are of potential interest and use to readers.

As with job ads, the advert remains up only for the relevant period and our discretion as to whether to run it or not is absolute. No affiliation between NL and the advertising body is to be inferred. NL takes no responsibility for the content or accuracy of the advert. No payment is requested or received. Anybody with a free or NFP event can email me at the usual address on the ‘About’ page.
