J is a barrister. He considers housing law to be the single greatest kind of law known to humankind and finds it very odd that so few people share this view.

    Dear J,

Giles’ sad passing is a very big loss. My sincere condolences go to Giles’ family and friends.

May I ask if the service will be live streamed? If so, what are the joining instructions?

    many thanks

      Hi Iain,
At the moment I am afraid I do not know the answer to your question. I will make enquiries and post an update if there is to be a live stream.

        Hi Justin
The Crematorium is about 1 mile away from Knebworth Railway Station on the East Coast Main Line. Looks like it’s down a country lane

I’m so sorry to hear this. I would regularly laugh at his posts. He had such a way with the written word. A very big loss.

Can I send my heartfelt condolences to Giles’s family and friends. As a Housing Advisor for Citizens Advice his knowledge and posts were so invaluable in my understanding of Housing Law. He had a gift to take complex matters and explain in a clear helpful manner that I will be forever grateful for. A fantastic advocate who offered his vast understanding of Housing Law available for everyone to without fear or favour. He will be sorely missed.

I was so sorry to hear this, like many others I appreciated his knowledge and how he communicated with readers – such a shock – it must be terrible for his family.

Has Giles’ family indicated if donations can be made to a particular charity in his memory?

      Hi Emily,
      That’s a very kind question.

Yes, they have sugggested Shelter. I’m hoping to do an updated post (including a live stream link) later today/tomorrow.
