Ealing Law Centre
Social Justice Lawyer wanted!
Come join our award-winning law centre
Salary: £36,000 per annum
Ealing Law Centre is an award winning and highly respected law centre, providing specialist legal advice and representation to our local community. Since opening our doors, in the wake of LASPO in 2013, we have built a strong reputation for innovation in our services. In addition to legal aid contracts in Housing and Immigration, we run projects at the local Foodbank, provide a Crisis Navigator service at Brentford County Court and a holistic service to clients who have overlapping housing and welfare benefits issues, thanks to funding from the City Bridge Trust.
We are social justice lawyers fighting for the rights of our clients, through casework and my making sure their voices are heard in policy development. We are keen to make sure that we provide access to justice for our clients beyond the confines of the current legal aid contract.
We are expanding and looking to recruit a solicitor (1 year plus PQE) to work primarily in housing law. Our new colleague will be expected to manage their own housing legal aid caseload, meet billing targets and contribute to the happy atmosphere within the law centre. There will also be an opportunity to develop your own areas of specialism and to contribute to the development of the law centre as a whole.
We are happy to discuss the role prior to application and will consider flexible working.
