Keoghs Nicholls Lindsell & Harris LLP are looking to recruit a part-time (3 days per week) paralegal for their landlord and tenant department. The Firm is celebrating its 285th anniversary this year and has offices in Altrincham, Stockport and Macclesfield. It holds a legal aid contract for housing work in the Trafford, Stockport, Chester, Crewe and Macclesfield areas and delivers the housing possession court duty scheme at various Courts in the region.

The role’s responsibilities include:

  • Assisting other members of the department on day-to-day running of files
  • Assisting with the delivery of the housing possession court duty scheme
  • Attending and advising at established clinics

We are currently seeking a housing solicitor/caseworker to help work on our Legal Aid Agency contract covering legal help, certificated cases and representation at court as part of the duty solicitor scheme. You’ll need to have at least one year’s experience of advising and assisting in housing law (if you are a solicitor, not all of this experience needs to be post qualification), together with a talent for explaining complex legal ideas in simple language and the ability to manage a demanding workload.
