An exciting position still remains open for a Solicitor to supervise and develop our housing law work. Youth Legal is a specialist legal advice service for young people providing independent legal advice that is youth centered and suited to young people’s needs. We have a Legal Aid Agency contract in Community Care and to enable us to grow and support more young people we applied for and have been granted a Housing Contract. The position is funded by a generous 3 year grant from Trust for London.
Annual Salary: £33,136
Terms and conditions include a 37 hour week, 36 days holiday plus 8 statutory days, and 6% pension contribution

Philcox Gray is a well-respected practice with offices in London SE1 and Brixton, specialising in housing, public law, children and family. The firm has recently expanded, after merging with Hornby and Levy in April 2018. We are currently recruiting for a housing solicitor who meets the requirements for supervision under the legal aid contract, to start in August / September 2018.
The work of the housing team was awarded Category 2 Competence Plus by the Legal Aid Agency at our last peer review in May 2017.
The successful candidate will have specialist knowledge of housing law and legal aid, and experience of dealing with a caseload representing tenants / licensees of social landlords and homeless applicants in all aspects of housing and public law.

We seek an experienced caseworker to manage a specialist housing advice caseload.
Central England Law Centre is the UK’s largest Law Centre, with offices in Coventry and Birmingham, and a national reputation for innovation and excellence in its legal practice.
Our established and well respected Coventry Housing team is expanding to establish a new service in Birmingham. We have been awarded a legal aid contract in housing for Birmingham and we have funding from the Oak Foundation’s Housing and Homelessness Programme. Our Birmingham office has grown rapidly since it opened 2013 and we are now able to offer expertise in welfare benefits, debt, community care, immigration and public law.
Birmingham has seen a rise in rough sleeping of more 600% in recent years and more than 20,000 households in Birmingham each year present homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. Our office is in the second most deprived neighbourhood in Birmingham, where the migrant population is 76%.
So there is much to do! We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced solicitor/caseworker to establish our new service; someone who is inspired by the opportunity to work as part of a team who are using legal solutions to improve lives in an area where many people are living with enduring poverty or disadvantage.
Terms and conditions include a 37 hour week, 28 days holiday plus 8 statutory days, and pension scheme membership.

A new London law practice, Lawstop, is seeking a top calibre law student, graduate, or individual with relevant experience to work full-time at our Hammersmith offices, starting as soon as possible after interview.
The position will involve conducting initial client interviews and recording their instructions, advising clients, communicating with external bodies, time recording, and general administrative duties.
We require a self-motivated individual with excellent spoken and written communication skills, the ability to quickly absorb legal information and to conduct legal research. You will have very good organisational and time management skills and be able to produce documents to tight deadlines. Patience and tact are necessary as you will be assisting vulnerable people.
This long-term position would be ideal for a person seeking experience in the public law field. Knowledge of legal aid is desirable but not essential.
