Housing Law Solicitor Position – REPOSTING

Youth Legal is a specialist legal advice service for young people providing independent legal advice that is youth centered and suited to young people’s needs – including housing and obtaining social services support. Youth Legal currently holds a Legal Aid Agency contract in Community Care, and has been granted a Housing Contract and a grant from Trust for London therefore an exciting position has opened for a Housing Solicitor to supervise and develop our housing law work.

Location: Wandsworth

Hours: Full time

Annual Salary: £32,971 (negotiable) + 6% pension contribution

  • To help ensure compliance with all gas, electrical and fire compliance arrangements and requirements relevant to the organisation and promote good practice throughout the organisation.
  • To carry out research or other activities to support the effective arrangement of gas, electrical and fire compliance.
  • Assist the in-house legal department with any research or other legal activities or reports as is required and perform other legal research tasks as required.

Housing Solicitor/Team Leader

Lambeth Law Centre are looking for an experienced housing solicitor to join our dynamic team to provide high quality legal advice and representation.  Our housing casework is largely LAA funded work. We currently run the Lambeth County Court Housing Possession Duty Scheme. Our team is well respected across the advice sector and amongst housing activists across the borough.

We are looking for a bright, dedicated housing solicitor with at least 4 years PQE experience who is committed to working within a team and wants to get involved in a range of exciting work. We are also looking for someone with the experience or potential to lead our housing team in conjunction with our Senior Solicitor.

Salary between £33,792 to £38,299 depending on qualification, experience and ability to lead the team.

You will need to have not less than 4 years experience of managing a caseload of mainly publicly funded work, including legal help and legal aid certificated work, and some advocacy experience.
