Housing Solicitor

We are a firm specialising in Housing and Property Law established for 13 years with Lexcel accreditation. We pride ourselves in our inclusive and diverse culture and our strong links with the local community.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Solicitor. Experience with legal aid is essential. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with county court litigation, high court judicial reviews and emergency injunctions. The vacancy benefits from some administrative support.

The successful candidates will be proactive in commencing and conducting cases in all areas of housing law, participating in the Barnet County Court Duty Scheme and conduct some private work. You will also we are looking for candidates that have an ability to meet set targets.

Landlord Law / Easy Law Training
Occasional assistance required from housing lawyer to help with preparing online training courses.
The successful applicant must
  • Have a good working knowledge of residential landlord and tenant law

  • Be able to type and create online content.  A working knowledge of wordpress and html would be an advantage

  • Be able to write clearly in plain English

  • Have your own computer and internet access and be able to work without supervision

Your work will include helping with the development of online training courses, for example writing case law summaries and helping to prepare CPD multiple choice questions. There may be further work later preparing other online content and helping Tessa Shepperson with the development of Landlord Law / Easy Law Training services.
This position will suit someone who wishes to work from home, for example a lawyer taking time out to look after a family or maybe someone who is unable to travel easily due to disability.
You will be working on a self employed basis at an hourly rate of £25.
Note that work will be on an ad hoc basis and will depend on what is needed as and when. Initially it is unlikely to be more than 5 hours in any one week, and there will be periods of time when we will not require assistance.
