Do you have a passion for improving people’s life chances? Do you ‘get’ the importance of housing? If so, we want your drive and creativity in our homelessness prevention team.
Lewisham is not immune to the pressures facing local government today, but the Council is working through an ambitious programme of transformation and modernising its entire operations, becoming more joined up, and ensuring that everything we do counts. With a renewed focus and impetus for improving our services, now couldn’t be a better time to join us…
We are a statutory front line emergency service providing help and assistance for members of our community in the most extreme housing need.
We no longer have a ready supply of social housing to provide for homeless people and today, meeting need demands a fast paced and creative response. Our Housing Options service places homelessness prevention at the forefront of what we do.
The service works hand in glove with the rest of the Strategic Housing Department, which is driving for ever better regulation of the private rented sector and ever closer collaboration with the majority of private landlords who provide a good quality, well managed product.
As a member of our Housing Options service, you would be working tirelessly to make a difference. You will be working with a wide range of fellow professionals from other disciplines, taking decisions on a daily basis that impact the life chances of your customers. You will be taking tough decisions but be proud to be part of a service with a record for fairness, creativity and keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.
