Position: Housing Solicitor/Caseworker
Requirements: Applicants must have at least one years experience of Legal Aid Housing work. This is a permanent position working in our Social Welfare Law Department.
The successful applicant will already have experience of defending possession proceedings, be familiar with the law and procedure in respect of homelessness and disrepair as well as unlawful evictions..
A working familiarity with the Legal Aid Agencies on line CCMS would be an advantage.

We currently have three vacancies:
• A permanent post for a housing and/or community care solicitor to start in December 2015.
• A locum housing and/or community care solicitor to cover an existing solicitor’s maternity leave until mid -June 2016; and
• A para-legal worker who has passed the LPC or BVC to support our solicitors and caseworkers. A training contract is a possibility.
In all cases, ability to work in Spanish and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
We are a specialist team of litigation lawyers working for tenants, the homeless, migrants, disabled people, welfare benefits claimants, and victims of accidents and negligent lawyers. Our lawyers and support staff include native speakers in Spanish and Portuguese and we provide a full bi-lingual service in those languages.
