Housing, Specialist Support Officer
The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing information and advice, and by influencing policymakers. At national Citizens Advice we work in close partnership with bureaux to ensure an effective and high quality service for all.
The National Homelessness Advice Service (NHAS) has been in existence for 20+ years and is funded by the Department of Communities and Local Government, to provide consultancy, training and support to frontline advisers. The service is a partnership between Citizens Advice and Shelter. The post holder will be working with the current Citizens Advice NHAS Housing Specialist Support Officer team.

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can use your specialist Housing experience and skills to make a real difference?
We need a highly effective communicator to act as a national specialist on housing, providing telephone/on-line consultancy to our first tier advisers so that they in turn can deliver a high quality service to their clients around the country.
To succeed you will need a comprehensive knowledge of law and practice relating to housing (tenant & homeowner), including casework and advocacy experience.
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of housing law along with good organisational skills and excellent communication skills. You will be involved in delivering consultancy, and in developing an agency’s housing advice and good practice. Supporting advisers, producing training, information resources and writing material for our magazine and other publications will also be key elements of the role.
