Housing Law Supervisor/Authorised Litigator
Ealing Law Centre
Location: Ealing, West London
Salary: £29,611 per annum dependent on experience
Working hours: 35 per week
Contract: Permanent/Fixed term
Ealing Law Centre has been set up in the last 12 months by a dedicated group of mainly Ealing residents either working in, or with in-depth experience of the advice sector. The recent LSC tender has given rise to an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated housing lawyer to join an organisation at its inception and to help shape the future development of the Centre.
We have been awarded a Housing and an Immigration/Asylum contract by the LSC to commence in April 2013. We require an experienced Housing Supervisor/Litigator with experience in working within legal aid contracts to start work in April 2013.
The successful candidate will conduct the housing and debt matter starts we have been allocated, be proactive in commencing and conducting certificated cases for clients and will participate in the court duty scheme, again looking to maximise certificated work from those cases.
There will also be responsibility for developing the housing law strategy for the organisation within Ealing borough, including developing links with and training other organisations. We will have funded projects of this kind which the supervisor will be responsible for.
We are looking for candidates who have experience in achieving success under legal aid contracts and who have the capability to make the new legal aid regime work for clients and the organisation.
Ealing Law Centre is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from all candidates who meet the person specification regardless of age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or race.
