NL on flexible tenancies – free CPD too!

08/08/2012

We don’t usually do promotional stuff on the blog, but I thought we might make an exception in this case, because it involves free CPD and, well, me (and another from the NL team).

I did a podcast for CPDCast on the introduction and operation of Flexible Tenancies through the Localism Act 2011. Thanks to the lovely people at CPDCast we can offer the podcast free to NL readers.

The podcast lasts about 30 minutes and, together with the quiz afterwards, is worth 1 CPD point for solicitors, barristers or Ilex. You can find it here. I commend it to insomniacs in particular.

The offer from CPDCast is for two free podcasts, each worth a CPD point with the quiz. Also on the CPDCast list (under Housing and Property) are ones by our own David Smith on Squatting law updates and on the Tenancy Deposit Scheme after the Localism Act. There also a useful one on Homelessness after the Localism Act by Sara Stephens. And there are quite a few others that may be of interest.

In order to get the free podcasts, you must have a CPDcast account (but it only takes a few minutes to set this up and it is free – Register button at top right). You then simply need to add the podcast to your basket, enter the promotional code ‘FLEX’ and apply it to the account. This will then change the podcast from £65 to £0.00 and you can then proceed through the checkout. The podcast will then appear in your account ready to be listened to.

“Important: There is a limit to the amount of promotional codes a user can claim. If people have already listened to two other free podcasts in the past using CPDcast promo codes, this code will not work for them.”

Giles Peaker is a solicitor and partner in the Housing and Public Law team at Anthony Gold Solicitors in South London. You can find him on Linkedin and on Twitter. Known as NL round these parts.
